Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church Leadership
Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Tim Olson
Senior Pastor
Meet Our Pastor
Tim Olson has served as Senior Pastor of Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church since August 25, 2019. Before coming to Berkeley Avenue, Tim ministered at Calvary Baptist Church in Merced, California, where his love for Christ, the church, and the Word of God continued to grow.
Tim’s heart as a pastor is rooted in faithful preaching and careful shepherding. He believes God works through the clear proclamation of Scripture to shape lives, strengthen faith, and build healthy churches. His preaching is centered on the Bible and aims to connect God’s truth to everyday life—calling people to trust Christ more deeply and to live out their faith with humility and conviction.
Tim has a deep desire to lead a church that is grounded in biblical truth and shaped by God’s grace. He longs to see a congregation that loves God’s Word, cares well for one another, and looks outward with compassion toward the needs of the community. His vision for Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church is a body of believers growing together in faith, committed to worship, discipleship, and sharing the hope of Christ with others.
Worship and preaching are not taken lightly by Tim. Though he works a secular job during the week, he spends many evenings and days in study, prayer, and preparation—seeking to faithfully handle God’s Word and serve the church well. His ministry flows from a deep conviction that God meets His people through Scripture, prayer, and the gathered worship of the church.
Tim has been happily married to his wife, Laurie, for many years. Together, they are blessed with five children and eleven grandchildren. Family is a great joy in Tim’s life, and he is thankful for God’s grace both in the home and in the church.
